"In an either/or but not both, I'd give the nod to AWD. I'd prefer the snow tires on icy roads, but AWD with all seasons beats 2WD with snow tires in the snow or slush. I know there will be those who will dispute this, but I've done snow tires, and while the difference is noticeable between them and all seasons, I've not found it to be that significant. 2WD to AWD, however...big difference."
