<![CDATA[Comments from daftrok]]> <![CDATA[Comments from daftrok]]> <![CDATA[daftrok commented on Nyko Media Hub Beefs Up Newer, Wimpier PS3s]]> Seriously, why do you need a 4 USB port dongle unless you're playing Rock Band? If you are willing to throw down $100+ for a game, you can throw $10 bucks on a hub (essentially any 3rd party USB hub works on a PS3).

<![CDATA[daftrok commented on First Snow Leopard Screenshots Look Exactly Like Leopard]]> Just to clarify, just because an OS has issues (for example Vista) it doesn't mean every single person has had problems. And also, you can direct download Vista for dirt cheap or just buy the OEM:

And everyone knows that Ultimate is Ultimate BS. Vista Basic is all you need (get Premium if you want to have a Media Center too) and those cost as much as Leopard did if not less. And yes of the 5 Mac OSX changes there has been one that was free, the rest cost 99-129 dollars.

]]>
<![CDATA[daftrok commented on First Snow Leopard Screenshots Look Exactly Like Leopard]]> Ever since Mac OSX, every yearly or bi-yearly refresh was stamped with a $129 price tag. Were the three Service Packs that XP released cost anything? No. It was fixing the issues of the past for free because it was expected from them. This is the same with Office 2003, Vista, anything. A hellova lot of work went into the XP Service Packs and all you had to do was download it for free. And what did Leopard bring to the table? What it should have done FOR FREE. What was EXPECTED FROM THEM. Language support, easier coding for programmers. Core Animation. Upgrades to the programs like iChat and DVD. Easier to back up files. Given the premium Mac users spend on their hardware, the least Apple can do is offer the upgrade for free.

Now Leopard was meant to be the "foundation for future OS's" but looked what happened: instability, incompatibility, crashing, etc. etc. etc. Leopard was the Vista for Mac; it had alot of problems and now they are releasing this Snow Leopard to cool things down (hopefully not freezing or turning screens blue). But this OS better be free otherwise it is just another slap in the face for Mac users.

<![CDATA[daftrok commented on Free iPhone 2.0 Software Available in July]]> Why in the hell wasn't Office document compatibility available on the iPhone in the first place? This is why I didn't buy the iPhone last year: overpriced and not the key features I'd expect a device to have.

]]>
<![CDATA[daftrok commented on Confirmed: Mac OS 10.6 Is Snow Leopard]]> Leopard was released last October! It's a clear indication that Leopard was not as smooth as they wanted it to be and have to release a new version by early next year (most likely in April just like Tiger) and no doubt charge that ridiculous $129 dollars for upgrading. Jackasses.

<![CDATA[daftrok commented on 3G iPhone Rumor Roundup]]> @eddiesdguy:
That little arrow button on the right of the button is the correct way to do the @username thing. And he's not a hater, he has a pretty valid argument. The only thing that the iPhone had going for it was multi touch and a shiny OS. It was easy to use but have major drawbacks.

1) No 3G in the beginning. Seriously just make it 15 mm thick and include the features that would make a phone worth 500 freaking bucks (at launch).

2) No Windows Mobile support. If their Macs have Windows XP/Vista support, why couldn't this?

3) No Firefox/Thunderbird support. That was pretty weak. The addons are fantastic and having a solid email system that supports virtually any email provider is great. Its also a nice way to stick it to Outlook.

4) No plan along with it (sold separately). If you're gonna blow hundreds on a phone, the least they could do is throw a phone plan along with it.

5) Only one service provider. Phones have been plagued with this, but as all phones, life breaks free. I knew that the AT&T exclusivity would piss off people enough to crack the phone to run other providers and I'm glad they did it. FREEDOM!

6) NO FUCKING FLASH SUPPORT! Seriously, what the hell! Mobile Flash is absolutely fine! Archos does it, Nokia does it, GAH! I want to be able to watch ANY YouTube video, HULU on the go, CNN delegates reporting with their cool flash tickers. This is elementary for mobile phones and they fucked it up.

So, in essence, the iPhone should have been a lot of things in the beginning and not later on.
