<![CDATA[Skorpius commented on Question of the Day: How Often Do You Replace Your Cellphone (and Why)?]]> I bought my first cell phone in August of 2000. I am still using that StarTAC to this day. Going to get a smartphone perhaps when the Blackberry Bold comes to Sprint or if the Apple SDK results in the new iPhone sucking less.

<![CDATA[Skorpius commented on Stereos, Tapes, CDs and Vinyl Records: My Frustrating Romance With Old-Fashioned Audio Gear]]> iPods are for out of the house, physical media is for inside the house, unless you've ripped losslessly and can stream it from your computer (bypassing the poor D/A converter in the iPod). I think too many folks are losing site of quality these days. I've got around 1300 CDs and growing all the time. I'll never get rid of them. Perhaps I'll box up my cassette tapes which I don't have a corresponding CD for, and the few vinyls I have have already been bought on CD, but I'd never get rid of those, either.

<![CDATA[Skorpius commented on Denon Lowers Price, Sticks with 1.1 For DVD-1800BD Blu-ray Player]]> I really don't understand why everyone is still releasing a dead spec. I sure as hell won't buy any of them until they wise up. This is rather disappointing coming from Denon.

People like me, who actually care about quality and are sick of the way music is being destroyed thanks to Apple and their crappy bit rates everyone and their mother is buying into. We are progressing in technological innovation, yet audio fidelity is moving BACKWARDS.
