This deathtoy is built complete from Lego bricks, except for a "piece of string" and refill bottle of butane. And you thought Legos were just a choking hazard.
When the Gizmodo staff goes postal, this will definitely be our weapon of choice. Hit the jump for 7 seconds of the sweetest video you've ever seen...today...unless you may have seen something better this morning...in which case you've had a pretty good day.
LEGO Flamethrower [techeblog]

I'd think that would liquidize the plastic to a state of LEGO-e goodness. Apparently, I was wrong.
My god, I've been trying to create weapons out of LEGOs since I was 7 years old...That's incredible!
It makes the pyromaniac inside of me as giddy as a 13-year-old schoolgirl seeing her hot-but-way-too-old math teacher for the first time ever.
Now I'm inspired...off to play with my big rolling plastic cart of LEGOs, a Zippo, and a can of spraypaint.
This reminds me of the Robosapien flamethrower as well as the supersoaker thrower videos seen on YouTube. Still, everything made out of legos? That's pretty incredible.
Two things.
1. Pressed play on the video and heard the sound of a fire engine roaring past. Perfect timing.
2. Flamethrower + small room = probably not the best place to test a flamethrower out. Maybe, you know, outside in a concrete parking lot would be better. Just a guess, though.

The only thing not LEGO is a refill can of butane and a piece of string ....
Sooooo, what creates the spark then?
They kids and therefore slightly retarded. Plus I dont think you can carry this thing around. Its made of plastic.
Legos, is there anything they can't do?
that is just awesome.... though personally i'd test that outdoors...
I just love how he gets up at the end and he's like "Whatever."
That thing is amazing, who would've known you could do that with legos?
Psha.... I've been making atomic weapons out of legos for years...you wait, you'll see...
Ok, I admit that was pretty cool. However, the first time some kid burns down the house with a LEGO flamethrower, make sure you donate something to the family.
This kicks the Supersoaker's a$$

shameless self promotion I know...
but seriously my flamethrower puts his to shame
plus it wont melt after one use
Yes, it's me. I am the idiot(savant ;) ) who built this.
I would like to reply to some of the comments:
"I'd think that would liquidize the plastic to a state of LEGO-e goodness."
The plastic doesn't melt becouse of the pressure from the butane bottle keeps the flame couple of inches from the LEGO part.
"Sooooo, what creates the spark then?"
That has to be done the old fashion way using a cigaret lighter.
More info on the flamethrower on my original web site:

p.s. The flame was alot longer with a new butane bottle. The video was made with an almost burned out one.
"Timmy, what did you bring for show and tell?"
*Timmy whips out flamethrower
"Very nice....and original"
That is awesome, except I was surpried the thing did not melt in his hands
